Trees up to 200 million years old that have naturally fossilized through a process  called mineralization. This means that instead of decomposing they have turned to solid petrified/fossilized stone. A truly incredible process that gives us a glimpse into the past. The original bark of this slice along with the rings of the tree give us a connection to the earth and the life that has existed long before us
